If you have any of these symptoms please book in for the brakes to be checked and repaired if required:
– If your brake pedal feels soft or spongy
– If there is excessive pedal travel
– If there is suddenly more pedal travel than normal
– If your brakes are making a grating, rubbing or grinding sound
– If one of your wheels looks much dirtier than the others
– If the car is pulling to the left or the right when braking
– If one of the wheels feels hotter than the others (do not touch the brake disk itself)
– If your brake disks look rusty or corroded (rear brakes often display this fault and it needs attending to)
– If there is a lip on the outer edge of the disk (when the brakes are cold carefully run your finger from the middle of the disk to the outer edge, you will notice a lip if it is there)
